The Holy Month of Muharram And the Day of Ashura

The concept of Islamic Hijri Calendar is established in the reign of second Caliph Hazrat Umar (R.A). The beginning of the Islamic New Year by the sighting of the moon of Holy Month of Muharram, the first month of Islamic Hijri Calendar. • “The best of fasts besides the month of Ramadan is the fasting of the month of Allah, Muharram.” (Sahih Muslim) 

• “We are more faithfully associated to Musa than you” Later He directed all the supporters to fast on the Day of Ashura. (Abu Dawood) 

• “The coming year, if Allah willpowers (I endure alive), I will for assuredly fast on the 9th (also).” (Sahih Muslim) 

• “Keep the fast of Ashura and oppose the Jews. Fast a day before it or a day after.” (Baihaqi) These Hadiths and Holy Quran verse show that the importance of Muharram and Day of Ashura. Muslims must keep fasting, perform Salah, recite the Holy Quran, recite the Darood e Pak, offer Nfls prayer and much more to get the blessings of Allah. 

This month or special Day of Ashura famous for Battle of Karbala which was fought between Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) and Yazid. The family of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) was martyred in this battle. For this incident, the atmosphere this day grief. May Allah help the Muslims in every difficult situation.
